Episiotomy correction

This post is in English because apparently in Brazil 80% of births are c-sections and most of my country women had no idea of what I'm taking about. When I did try to explain, they looked at me like I was out of this world and a weirdo for having a vaginal birth. One of the many reasons I decided to leave the country. I am now in Israel where 90% of births are the normal way.

So all the information I did find on the subject was in English. And I also found many women out there about to do this procedure and they were as lost as me! So this is for you girls!!!

The surgery was actually very simple and fast! It lasted a total of 20 minutes, general anesthesia that kicked in super fast, and I woke up a few minutes later in the recovery room in pain, but I could feel the improvement already. A week later no pain whatsoever, and now,  2 weeks after, completely healed. Best tips I can give you: cold compress, washing and drying the area and for pete's sake... Take your anti inflammatories!!!! If you are breastfeeding, like I am, Advil did the trick.

I teared naturally, upwards, in the opposite direction on the perineum. Yes, I know... So when they stitched me, they did it a little too much, so the surgery was to correct that, and remove some scar tissue from the original stitching.

For the first time, 5 months after the birth of my daughter, I'm pain free. So if you also have doubts regarding the surgery, here are my words of advice for you: do it! No need to be scared. It will make all the difference and you will feel much better!

If you need more details, feel free to email me!

Good luck, mamas!!!
